B-1 Planning

"By Failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail"

Effective planning is an essential skill for an administrator. My basic planning opportunities have come from growing and developing several programs as an Assistant Principal at Nolan Middle School. One of these planning experiences came from growing a Bring Your Own Device Program BYOD on my campus, which is currently about to begin the third year of implementation. This planning included teachers, students, parents and district involvement.  It required multiple school based meetings, writing and having a contract approved by the district, holding parent and student information meetings, trainings and revisions. In my opinion revisiting a program and making revisions is an essential part of proper planning to lead a program to success. I have attached a flyer from one of the parent planning meetings as an artifact of the B-1 Planning NLU Leadership and Management Catagories of Achievement.

I also have had planning experiences in writing our school improvement plan (SIP) for two consecutive years . The SIP plan is an essential ever changing planning document which is reported to the State and is essential for Professional Development Plans that teachers and administrators submit to plan for personal professional growth. The SIP plan must be improved by the School Advisory Council (SAC) and is a plan under which the entire school plans and operates. I have attached artifacts from the last two years Nolan SIP plans which I alone wrote and submitted to the State.  I have also attached a power point presentation I wrote for reporting to the SAC committee.

The two above experiences show examples of some of my reported planning opportunities as documented within my leadership log.
