B-6 Staff Relations
Taking time to celebrate with staff is not only fun it is necessary for a school community to thrive. I usually give little items to my staff that reminds them that I am thinking about them and that I care about their well-being. As an example at Easter I hide plastic Easter eggs in their room with personal messages inside. I write something positive that I noticed or that I heard a student say.
I also host celebratory events for holidays and staff "just because" get-togethers. I have attached two artifacts from our recent "Thanksgiving Feast" in which we all gathered together to eat a meal together. Funds were allocated from an internal account to purchase the turkey and staff banded together and brought a side dish. I sign it S2T for our Administrators are (Scot, Steve and Tamara). My male counter parts do not feel comfortable with this portion of administration, so I chair most of the staff relations events. I sign it S2T for I want them to feel a part of the celebration and I do not want them to feel left out from the events (they also let me do what I want so it is ALL GOOD!). (>:
