B-7 Governance Relations
Every man, every woman who has to take up the service of government, must ask themselves two questions: 'Do I love my people in order to serve them better? Am I humble and do I listen to everybody, to diverse opinions in order to choose the best path?' If you don't ask those questions, your governance will not be good.
Governance relations are critical as an administrator. Knowing the latest passed Bills from the State are necessary as an administrator plans for the future of his/her school and district. I sit on many governmental boards. I have been re-elected 6 times as the Commissioner At Large Seat 2 on the Palmetto City Commission. I have learned a great deal from this experience and it has given me multiple resources for extending communications between school and State. I have attached some of the agendas on a few of the Boards on which I am the representative. These Boards include: City of Palmetto Commission, Manatee County Fair Board, Palmetto Historic Board, and Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency. These experiences have helped me hone my leadership skills and have been a large assistance for me in community outreach.
